Why Buddy Ball?
No more sitting on the sidelines!
Kids and sports...a natural combination, a winning combination.
And now, thanks to Buddy Ball of Edison, and its supporters, children
with special needs can participate in sports across the board too. Buddy Ball of Edison organizes a year-round cornucopia
of sporting activities for these children free of charge. Because these
children often require medical treatment, medicines, distinctive equipment,
and special services such as physical therapy and tutoring, the goal of
Buddy Ball of Edison is to give them sports without imposing additional
financial demands on the parents and guardians.
Today, Buddy Ball of Edison programs include baseball,
basketball soccer, and bowling along with social events.
For years, children of special needs had no team or league
to call their own. They sat on the sidelines, interested spectators, watching
family and friends play baseball, soccer, etc. Buddy Ball of Edison a nonprofit organization, hopes to
have taken the necessary steps to provide an area for all children of
special needs to hear the words, "play ball!" Most important to the organization are the volunteers,
called "buddies" aged 12 years old and up. Buddies provide assistance,
guidance, encouragement and love to these children.
Note: Any child of special needs, 6 years of age or older,
Living Anywhere
is welcome to participate in Buddy Ball of Edison!
